The Philadelphia Flyers have a major need of goaltending depth in the organization, and now they've managed to snag an intriguing name from Toronto.

After drama surrounding goaltending over the past two years, the Philadelphia Flyers have been in major need of a depth move, and now the team have made that in a low-risk move that could pay off big time down the line. According to their social media, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Flyers have inked 25-year old Keith Petruzzelli to a one-year deal.

This past season, Petruzzelli played in both the ECHL and the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, and with a solid 3.55 GAA in limited time in the AHL, he's shown that he has serious potential for the future. Standing at 6-foot-5, Petruzzelli is the prototypical height for a star goaltender in the NHL, and after posting a 2.90 GAA in 25 appearances for the Marlies back in 2022/23, many believed he could be a good depth piece for Toronto moving forward.

Now however, the free agent is on his way out, and with a clear path to the NHL for the former Quinnipac netminder, this is a fantastic career move that could pay off in a big way.
