While it was already a given that forward Milan Lucic would not be returning, following criminal charges served to him by his soon-to-be ex-wife Brittany, we have now learned that former 15th overall pick Derek Forbort will not be getting an extension with the Boston Bruins.
Forbort has played three seasons in Boston, and has gone from a lineup staple to a #6/#7, only having played just over 30 games in 2023-24. He will likely go to a team that needs more bodies in their lineup with experience.
Here is the full list of players hitting UFA status with the Boston Bruins:
We will see if letting go of a player with Forbort's experience is the right move next season as the Boston Bruins look to avenge their round 2 defeat to the Florida Panthers.
