Winnipeg Jets' massive offer for Martin Necas leaks publicly
This afternoon a new report has come out after Martin Necas signed his contract extension that the Carolina Hurricanes turned down a massive trade offer to send him away.
The Carolina and Martin Necas made major headlines this afternoon after the two sides agreed to a contract extension. Martin Necas will be sticking around in Carolina for two more seasons.
Shortly after the extension was signed a report from NHL insider Frank Seravalli revealed that the team had multiple offers for Martin Necas in place that fell through. The first one that fell through was with the Buffalo Sabres who Martin Necas refused to extend his contract with.
The other potential trade destination was the Winnipeg Jets but according to Frank Seravalli, the trade was turned down. Regardless Frank Seravalli revealed what could have been.

Further reporting on the Martin Necas trade saga reveals that the Hurricanes turned down a huge offer from the Winnipeg Jets. The trade would've sent Cole Perfetti, Rutger McGroarty, and a draft pick to the Hurricanes in exchange for Martin Necas.
With this rejected trade fans will now only be able to reminisce on what could have been when it comes to a major trade. Instead Martin Necas will now return to the Carolina Hurricanes while the Winnipeg Jets go big fish hunting elsewhere.
