After a locker room controversy that spanned over half of the 2024-25 season thus far, the Vancouver Canucks have officially traded JT Miller to the New York Rangers.

It is no secret that JT Miller's time in Vancouver was a ticking clock, and following a failed trade to the New York Rangers two weeks ago, he has finally been moved to the team.

Per Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers have acquired JT Miller from the Vancouver Canucks.

This comes after Miller was healthy scratched for trade related purposes:

Miller agreed to waive his no trade clause to facilitate a move to the Big Apple.

The dynamics of the Canucks locker room have been very complicated this season, with a rivalry between stars Miller and Elias Pettersson.

Captain Quinn Hughes has been brilliant, and is on pace for a 100-point season; his next teammate behind in the points pace race is Connor Garland, on track for just over 50.

Miller and Pettersson's spat has affected the entire team, and they now sit outside a playoff spot despite a hot start.

It will be interesting to see if Elias Pettersson can turn things around now that his foe Miller is out of the picture.

As for Miller, he will return to his former team in the Rangers, where he can hopefully become the top centre he was just a year ago for the Canucks.

Reports suggest this will be a large multi-piece deal:

The key piece of the deal will be centre Filip Chytil, as well as young depth defenseman Victor Mancini and a draft pick.

Per top emerging insider Cam Robinson, the pick in the deal will be a first rounder.

Former first round pick Erik Brannstrom and depth player Jackson Dorrington will be sent to New York by the Canucks

Full details to come.
