Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid rallied his team after a tough loss to Team USA in the Four Nations tournament last night.

Connor McDavid might be the captain for the Edmonton Oilers, but until Sidney Crosby retires, he will have to wait to wear the C for his country in international events.

That being said, he is still a leader for Team Canada both on and off the ice.

Last night he showed that, pushing his team to be better after a bitter and disappointing loss to Team USA that puts Canada's spot in the finals in jeopardy.

When taking questions from the media after the game, McDavid noted that it was a great and competitive contest, one that the fans surely enjoyed.

He reiterated though that while Canada may be down, they are not out and can still earn a rematch against USA in the finals with a win over Finland tomorrow.

"There's a lot of great players out there. It was fast again, tight checking, competitive, emotional, it had everything you would want in a hockey game. Like I said, it sucks it didn't go our way, but this thing is far from over."

This is the kind of thing you want to hear from your leaders on any hockey team, let alone Team Canada.

Luckily, Team Canada is full of leaders. Most notably, the aforementioned Sidney Crosby is the team's captain, overcoming an injury scare that nearly kept him out of the event.

Its a good thing he was able to play too as his on-ice presence has been greatly felt, especially in the team's overtime win over Sweden in which he recorded three assists.

In fact, Crosby leads the team in scoring with those three helpers through two games, topping Connor McDavid, who is the only other player on the team with more than a single point with 1 goal and 1 assist.

The next game will be do-or-die for both Canada and Finland, so it should be an extremely fun and exciting one. Be sure to tune in to see if we will get the coveted USA vs Canada finale!
