The 6-foot-6 winger Michael McCarron was linked to the New York Rangers amid rumors of massive changes in the Nashville Predators organization.
With the trade deadline in just over a week, fans are eager to see what teams are planning to do. Some teams are especially intriguing, since we have no idea what they could do.
It's the Nashville Predators' case. After making massive acquisitions in the offseason, it's safe to say the team hasn't been performing up to the standards, and a lot could change in the organization before the trade deadline.
General Manager Barry Trotz appears ready to get rid of any players who don't want to be with the team anymore, according to a new report from Puck Empire:
With that in mind, anyone could be on the block in Nashville.
While he isn't the most attractive player to target on the Preds' roster, Michael McCarron could be shipped off to another team.
Still according to Puck Empire, McCarron was linked to the New York Rangers.
Here's what they posted on Instagram (details on the last slide):
McCarron, drafted 25th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft, was limited to only eight points in 49 games this season so far.
The 6-foot-6, 232 lbs forward may not bring a steady offensive presence, but his two-way skills, especially on the penalty kill, could be an interesting asset for the Rangers.
The Rangers will certainly look to make a push for the playoffs in the last stretch of the season. While adding McCarron seems like an underwhelming acquisition, depth players mustn't be neglected.
While McCarron never had success in the playoffs, having scored zero points in nine appearances throughout his career, he could still cause a surprise and help the Rangers clinch their playoff spot.
