Ryan St-Louis signed a one-year AHL deal with the Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver's development affiliate, to start his pro career.
Abbotsford general manager Richard Seeley announced the deal this week, bringing in St-Louis for the 2026-27 season.
St-Louis is the eldest of Martin St-Louis' three sons, adding another layer to a name already well known in hockey circles.
He just wrapped up four college seasons split between Northeastern and Brown, posting 33 goals and 37 assists over 121 games.
The 5-foot-10 left winger was born in Vermont and came up through the U.S. National Team Development Program before college.
That kind of path, NTDP to two different college programs, suggests a player who has had to prove himself at every stop.

St-Louis was not the only signing that day. Abbotsford also added forward Quinn Emerson, defensemen Gavin White and Tim Rego, and goaltender Mitchell Weeks.
All five signed one-year AHL deals for the 2026-27 season, giving new head coach Ryan Papaioannou a full group to build around from day one.
Vancouver's own season gives all of this extra weight. The Canucks finished dead last in the league at 25-49-8, with a minus-100 goal differential.
A rebuild that steep leans hard on exactly this kind of pipeline work, long before any of these names sniff an NHL roster spot.
None of it guarantees St-Louis becomes an NHL regular, but a 70-point college finish is a real foundation to build a pro career on.
