Jon Cooper recently commented on Sidney Crosby being the greatest to represent Canada, and a TSN analyst has weighed in on this supposed controversy.

In Canada's first game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, Crosby again displayed his leadership capabilities by racking up three points, one of which was a setup for Mitch Marner's winning goal in overtime that helped Canada win 4-3 over Sweden.

Following Canada's win over Sweden on Wednesday, coach Jon Cooper praised Sidney Crosby, hailing him as the "greatest player," which led to controversy on social media.

"You need a lift when their team is pushing and he sets it up with the helper. You need a lift in overtime and he's the one who sets it up. It's no coincidence his record while wearing a Canadian jersey."

- Jon Cooper

According to Cooper, Crosby is on his way to becoming the greatest Canadian to ever wear a national jersey, even surpassing legends Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.

"That's not a fluke. He will go down as the greatest player to ever represent his country. If not, he's on the Mount Rushmore, for sure."

The next day, TSN's Frankie Corrado weighed in on the coach's remark. Corrado agreed with the coach's comments, pointing to Crosby's outstanding performance in high-profile tournaments such as World Juniors, Olympics, World Cup of Hockey, and Men's World Championships.

"He's not wrong," Corrado said. "Like Sidney Crosby embodies everything that it means to be, you know, the greatest Canadian hockey player on the men's side, for sure. But you know what he's done."

He explained that not only did Crosby compete in these tournaments, he also won each time.

"Crosby has seen it all. He's done it all. And most importantly, Rod, he has won it all. And the way he's done it, he's never had a misstep along the way. It really is incredible that, you know, time and time again, when these teams and groups gather, everyone looks to Sidney Crosby to lead the way.

"And I think John Cooper is certainly on to something when he says that."

- Frankie Corrado

Along with his achievements, Corrado praised Crosby's leadership qualities, calm demeanor, and respect in which he is held by his team. Crosby and Team Canada face their next game on Saturday against the USA.
