Former 35th Overall Pick Traded by the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning have swung a trade on Wednesday afternoon, sending Jesse Ylonen to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Anthony Angello.

It's not the most earth-shattering of trades, but a deal has officially gone down between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Nashville Predators .

The Lightning have traded Jesse Ylonen, who was the 35th overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Anthony Angello.

Ylonen has played in the American Hockey League this year, scoring 17 points (8G, 9A) in 47 games. He gained valuable NHL experience with the Canadiens last year, appearing in 59 games and scoring 12 points (4G, 8A).

Meanwhile, Angello has also played in the American Hockey League this year with the Milwaukee Admirals, scoring 14 points (7G, 7A) in 41 games.

Former Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos decided to bolt from sunny Florida to the twang of Music City, joining the Predators this past summer with a 4-year deal after being unable to come to terms on a contract with the only team he'd ever suited up for.

And while the Predators also signed Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei, they've been one of the worst teams in the Western Conference this year.

Meanwhile, the Lightning compensated for Stamkos' loss by signing Jake Guentzel to an 8-year deal. While the Bolts haven't exactly been lightning the NHL on fire this year, they're still solidly in a postseason spot and are on track to once again make the annual dance barring a catastrophic collapse.
