Shane Wright and Lane Lambert are back at the center of Seattle's summer after new links to Nashville and Vancouver.
That matters because this is no longer one-team noise. David Pagnotta's latest mention tying Wright to the Predators and Canucks says the market is still alive around the 22-year-old center.
And it is easy to see why teams keep calling. Wright finished 2025-26 with 12 goals and 27 points in 74 games, which is enough to keep belief high without shutting down buy-low talk.
The bigger draw is still the profile. Wright was the No. 4 pick in 2022, shoots right, and plays center. Clubs do not stop checking on players like that after one uneven season.
Seattle also has reason to listen even if it does not force anything. General manager Jason Botterill said at season's end that he planned to be aggressive this summer, and Wright remains one of the most interesting young assets on the roster.
That is what makes Nashville and Vancouver worth watching. Both teams have had center questions, and both can sell Wright a cleaner runway than he may have had in Seattle last season.
Wright's contract adds to the appeal. Marqueur lists him in the final season of his entry-level deal at a cap hit of 886,666, which makes him even easier for rival teams to fit.

The Predators angle feels straightforward. Andrew Brunette is expected back, and Nashville has been searching for more long-term answers down the middle after a rough year.
Vancouver is a different kind of fit. The Canucks have gone through front-office and bench changes, and a younger center with upside would match a club still trying to figure out its next version.
From Seattle's side, this is still a timing question more than a talent question. Wright has 169 NHL games already, so the Kraken know they are not trading a mystery box. They would be moving a player whose value could still climb fast in the right role.
That is why the price matters so much. Seattle should not move Wright for a soft futures package just because the fit has not fully clicked yet. A young right-shot center with his pedigree still has real trade weight.
So this rumor lands in a serious place. Shane Wright is not guaranteed to be traded, but if Nashville and Vancouver are truly in the mix, the Kraken are now staring at the kind of decision that can shape their roster for years.
