Jaromir Jagr has all but retired, leaving no head coach with a realistic chance to get him back into a lineup.
The 54-year-old Czech legend has yet to suit up for Rytiři Kladno in training camp or preseason, and his latest comments leave little mystery about what comes next.
Jagr said he's “still keeping myself in shape, but I'm not training as if I were going to play.”
That's a major change in tone for a player who has spent years refusing to fully close the door on another appearance. This time, Jagr isn't talking about preparation, timing or waiting for his body.
