The Leafs have been without their starting goalie Ilya Samsonov for just one game so far but Head Coach Sheldon Keefe just shared some troubling news regarding his health.

Samsonov left the Leafs Saturday night with a undisclosed injury, the team did not think he would miss time due to injury however he was not seen at practice today, causing concerns among fans.

"I would say the same," Keefe said. "He has been skating for the last couple of days, but he wasn't going to play tonight regardless. Today is a chance for him to work his way back.

Keefe is hoping that the injury isn't going to hold him out the lineup for too long calling it a day-to-day injury.

Samsonov has a good record on the year (19-6-7) but has struggled to keep the puck out of the net at a consistent rate with a 3.12 goals against average and a 0.889 save percentage.

The Leafs will look to try and string some wins together with Joseph Woll in net for their game against the Devils.

Keefe also held a press conference to update on the other injuries they have.

Mitch Marner upgraded to day-to-day. Progressing well, per Keefe.

Morgan Rielly a game-time decision with injury.

Joel Edmundson won't play. He's day to day.

Joseph Woll starts for Leafs.

When the Leafs become fully healthy they will look to improve upon their previous season and push for the Stanley Cup.
