Montreal Canadiens Insider Tony Marinaro Discloses Details of Failed Multi-Player Trade With Team Rival
The renowned Montreal Canadiens insider Tony Marinaro disclosed details of a failed multi-player trade with a rival team in a recent intervention.
It's no secret that the Canadiens' start to the season had been disappointing once again. After last night's 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild, many people are agreeing that the expectations set by the management to be in the playoff mix are too high.
After 17 games, they now have a 5-10-2 record; the worst in the NHL. Currently 32nd in the league, the Habs need to make some changes before ending the year at the bottom of the rankings for a third straight season.
With Patrik Laine set to return soon, Lane Hutson's uprising, and Kirby Dach slowly grasping his previous rhythm, the team could still turn things around in the coming weeks.
But to help the players, management must do its part too. Fans and experts don't always agree on which players should be traded out of Montreal, but in Joel Armia's case, it seems unanimous.
In recent years, Armia's name came up often in trade rumors, and Tony Marinaro, the Canadiens insider, revealed that Kent Hughes and the Habs almost traded him a few years ago.
Marinaro revealed in a recent intervention that Armia was offered in a package deal to the Ottawa Senators, but the team refused.

We don't know what the failed trade implied, but it could've reshaped the landscape of both the Canadiens and the Senators.
Since then, Armia's game got better, but with his contract expiring after the current season, it's widely believed the time has come for the Canadiens to make a deal happen.
