Top Pittsburgh Penguins Prospect Tanner Howe Traded in Massive Five-Piece Deal
A massive trade has just gone down in the CHL, which will see Pittsburgh Penguins highly-touted prospect Tanner Howe moved to a new team.
A season after his standout year, the former third-youngest captain in Regina Pats history, and one of the top prospects of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Tanner Howe has been dealt to the Calgary Hitmen.
Howe led the Pats last season with a career-high 28 goals and 49 assists before adding seven goals in just 10 games to start this season.

In return for Howe, the Pats received a premium haul: 2007-born defenceman Reese Hamilton from Whitewood, Sask., 2006-born forward Keets Fawcett from Grimshaw, Alta., a third-round draft pick in 2025, and a second-round selection in 2027.
Hamilton boasts an impressive resume, including an April win of gold as an underager at the World U18 Championships, followed by another piece of gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in August.
He is pegged to play for Team CHL at the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge later this month.
Fawcett finished off last season as the sixth-leading scorer for the Hitmen and was among the top 20 goal-scorers in his age group.
This move also fortifies the Pats' future, leaving them with an incredible 15 selections in the first three rounds of the 2025, 2026, and 2027 WHL Prospects Drafts.
Their stockpile now includes five first-round picks, six second-rounders, and five third-rounders.
