The Ottawa Senators have seen the emergence of Adam Gaudette this season, and now the young forward has shown his confidence with an intriguing answer.

Through 22 games this season, the Ottawa Senators find themselves at 10-11-1 as they look to finally get back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs after years of expectations.

One player that is significantly helping that push is forward Adam Gaudette, who is having a career year thus far, sitting just one goal shy of his career high of 12 through just 21 games played.

That success has been a big factor in the team's play this year, with the 28-year old finally finding his groove at the NHL level after posting an impressive 71 points in 67 games last season at the AHL level.

In his latest interview however, Gaudette was seemingly disrespected by the media, who asked if he was surprised by the success he was having with the Senators this season.

In the most respectful way, the former fifth-round draft pick quickly snapped back, having this to say:

"You guys keep asking me if I'm surprised, and I don't mean to sound cocky, but I'm not. I was able to do this at every level. High school, college, every step of the way it took time but I managed to do it. It was only a matter of time before I was able to do it at this level."

While nobody quite expected 11 goals in 21 games from Gaudette this season, he has proven that he can get it done at any level, so to continually question that is a major issue with the media in Ottawa.

However, Gaudette remains confident in his abilities, and with his career high of 12 goals and 33 points firmly in his sights this season, it's safe to say that he believes he can keep this success up in a big way moving forward.
