The Chicago Bears are one of the worst NFL teams this year, and last night they suffered another horrible loss, leading to the firing of their head coach.

Chicago Bears fans are irate after the team's 23-20 Thanksgiving loss to the Detroit Lions, and the frustration culminated in calls for head coach Matt Eberflus to be axed immediately.

The final straw for the fans came in the last minutes of the game, as Eberflus fumbled the clock, allowing it to expire despite having a timeout in his pocket. Irate fans took to social media, promising a protest en masse if Eberflus isn't fired by Friday.

It extends the Bears' losing streak to six in a row, with three straight to NFC North opponents. The Bears lost for the third consecutive week by seven combined points, and this sealed a miserable season in regard to close-game coaching from Eberflus. At 4-8 this season, with an overall 14-32 record in two years, patience ran out.

It wasn't until the second half of the game that a glimmer of hope showed up in the face of a young rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams completed 15-of-24 passes for 222 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers during the night.

Williams showed promise, but it was eclipsed by how the coaching staff failed to close out the game. Many believe this team and its rising star deserve better going forward.

The team appears to have listened to its fans, and today it was announced that head coach Matt Eberflus was fired.

Fans can rest easy now knowing they no longer need to protest, and they look forward to seeing who will be named the team's next coach.
