It was announced today that the NHL has postponed the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins due to a ceremony at TD Garden.

Today's game between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins will be a very special night - it is the celebration of 100 years of Boston Bruins hockey, and nearly exactly a century removed from the first game the rivals every played against each other.

"BOSTON - The Canadiens and Bruins first faced off on Dec. 8, 1924. Nearly a century later-almost to the day-the two historic rivals will meet again in the Bruins' Centennial Game at TD Garden on Sunday.

Tonight's game was set to begin at 3PM, however, due to a ceremony in Boston, the NHL has opted to instead postpone the game until 4:15.

Fans were sure to express their displeasure with this lack of planning for the hour and a half long ceremony, pushing puck drop to this unexpected time.

The Original Six franchise was the first American team to join the NHL, and their arena then is still a functioning sports venue now.

It is incredible to see where the Boston Bruins have gone in 100 years. While they may not have the 24 Stanley Cups of their rivals, they still hold one of the greatest histories in sports.

Which team will win today, however, is unknown.
