Vincent Trocheck and Mike Sullivan just stepped into a louder Rangers summer after Trocheck's agency change put the trade noise back on full blast.

Darren Dreger's update is the part that jumps. Trocheck hiring Pat Brisson and CAA does not force a trade by itself.

But it absolutely turns the volume up.

Players do not make a move like that in the middle of heavy speculation without people around the league reading into it. And Dreger made the second part clear too: there is a lot of interest.

That makes sense.

Trocheck still had 53 points in 67 games in 2025-26, and he is not some short-term rental center with no control left on his deal.

He is signed through 2028-29 at a $5,625,000 cap hit, which means any team calling New York is calling on a player it can keep for more than one spring.

That is why this story is bigger than a simple agent note.

" Sources say Vincent Trochek has hired Pat Brisson and CAA to represent him moving forward. Trochek was a target of trade speculation heading into the Deadline, so this change will fuel more of that in the days ahead. Lots of teams interested. "

Everything just changed in New York after the latest Vincent Trocheck update

Montreal are the wild card. The Canadiens can use another hard center behind Nick Suzuki, and Trocheck would bring exactly the kind of edge and faceoff help that plays in that market.

Florida are easy to connect. If the Panthers ever wanted to double down on their heavy middle-ice identity, Trocheck looks like the kind of win-now center they would love dropping into the mix.

Philadelphia feel very believable. The Flyers are the sort of team that could talk itself into a proven veteran who still plays with bite and can help a top six right away.

Boston belong in this conversation too. The Bruins always value centers who can handle tough minutes, and Trocheck's style fits that room a lot more than a soft skill-only winger ever would.

Detroit make sense because they still need more push down the middle and more players who can drag a game into the hard areas. Trocheck would give them a nastier look fast.

And Winnipeg may be the sneaky favorite of this whole group. The Jets are built to win now, and adding a center who can play matchup hockey in the top six feels like a very clean fit.

The biggest thing here is not that one of these teams is definitely getting him.

It is that Trocheck just made the whole market feel more active.

Once Pat Brisson gets attached to a player with term, production, and this many logical fits, the Rangers are not dealing with background chatter anymore. They are dealing with a file that looks ready to move.
