The man accused of driving drunk and hitting Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, murdering both of them, appeared in court once again Friday morning.

Sean Higgins, 43, was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and remains in jail without bond after a judge denied a motion for bond. He is set to appear in court again on October 15th.

Higgins told police he'd had "five or six beers" before the August 29th crash, according to the arrest report.

The victims, Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau were bicycling in New Jersey when they were struck. Johnny Gaudreau, star of the NHL, has played the last two seasons for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He and his brother Matthew both played college hockey at Boston College.

The Gaudreau brothers were back in New Jersey for their sister's wedding, which was tragically scheduled for the day after the collision.

Sean Higgins is part of the New Jersey National Guard, and he is also said to have been working at a drug and alcohol treatment center.
