Jaromir Jagr has been an active hockey player for over half of his life, but now, the legend is officially calling it quits.

The hockey world has enjoyed watching Jaromir Jagr from the time he was drafted No. 5 overall back in the 1992 NHL Draft, but now, over 30 years later, he is officially retiring and hanging up his skates. This comes after he began yet another season in the Czech Hockey League, tallying an assist in the season opener with the Kladno Knights, with his agent officially confirming the news.

Jaromir loves hockey very much. He is in very good health and has no problems with his discipline. This is why he continues to play hockey. Now he is the oldest athlete who continues to play hockey.

After an incredible 1,733 games in the NHL, which ended back in 2017/18 with the Calgary Flames, Jagr has gone on to continue his career with the Kladno Knights, and while he may not be at the NHL level anymore at his age, he continues to prove he can get it done. Last season, the 52-year old played in 15 games, tallying four assists and posting a +10 differential, but now, it's time to hang up the skates and move onto a new role in the hockey world, and given his experience, there's no doubting he will be able to find any role in hockey that he wants.
