Two original six teams are set to meet on the ice on Saturday night, as the Maple Leafs will receive the New York Rangers in Toronto. Both teams played four games this season, but the Rangers have a slight edge on the Leafs, with one more point in the rankings.
These teams have great expectations for the 2024-25 season. Indeed, the Rangers are coming off a Presidents' Trophy season, while the Leafs, after making major changes to their team during the summer, hope to win their first Stanley Cup since 1967.
While all eyes may be on the teams' superstars like Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Igor Shesterkin, or Artemi Panarin, fans will be looking at two other players set to appear on the lineup: Ryan Reaves and Matt Rempe.
The two enforcers were scratched for most of the season, but will be playing tonight in Toronto, as Luke Fox revealed on X:
The last time these two teams faced off, back in March, Rempe and Reaves dropped the gloves in one of the most heated fights of the last season.

However, since that game, Rempe got help from one of the most renowned NHL enforcers in recent history: Georges Laraque.
The team received a lot of criticism for scratching Rempe from the lineup earlier this season. The player will need to show his organization he can do the job while staying away from the penalty box and minimizing mistakes.
As for the Leafs, they have a lot of depth in their lineup, and Reaves' inconsistent play forced head coach Craig Berube to scratch him in the last Leafs game.
Needless to say, the stage is set for a great heavyweight showdown between Rempe and Reaves tonight! Stay tuned.
