Controversy in Vancouver: Elliotte Friedman Comments on JT Miller's Return to the Team
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman made some interesting comments about JT Miller after he returned to the team last night.
JT Miller made headlines last night as he returned to the Canucks after a lengthy leave of absence from the team.
As one might expect, he spoke to reporters ahead of the game but refused to address the elephant in the room.
That being said, he had an immediate impact in his return, picking up two assists in just 14 minutes of ice time in the 4-0 win over the Florida Panthers.
The team even named him the first star of the game for his efforts.
On yesterday's 32 thoughts podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman spoke about the situation, implying that there is still work to be done before Miller and the team can see eye-to-eye again.
Of course, speculation has run rampant about this situation since Miller left.
These comments from Friedman have only fueled that speculation.
One popular fan theory is that Miller specifically has a problem with fellow Canucks forward Elias Pettersson.
If the two players do in fact have a feud with each other, it could explain why Pettersson performed so well in Miller's absence.
The Swedish superstar had 13 points in 10 games with Miller out of the lineup.
That's the same total he had in 18 games leading up to Miller's departure.
Hopefully, the team and Miller can figure out how to repair their relationship regardless of what the problem is.
