The Dallas Stars head coach Peter DeBoer shared an update on forward Mason Marchment after he was rushed to the hospital during a game.

Yesterday, the Dallas Stars received the Minnesota Wild at home, which ended up being an action-packed game.

The Wild won 3-2 in overtime after the beautiful wrap-around game-winning goal from defenseman Brock Faber.

Unfortunately for the Stars, they were without one of their most reliable veteran forwards: Mason Marchment.

The 29-year-old player had to leave the game in the first period after receiving a puck to the face.

Marchment was in front of the net during a powerplay, trying to prevent the Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson from seeing the puck.

However, things didn't end well for him.

His teammate, Evgeni Dadonov, shot the puck from the blue line, and Logan Stankoven deflected the shot right on Marchment's face.

The player collapsed on the ice and never returned to the game.

Check out how it went down in the following video:

After the game, the Stars' head coach Peter DeBoer confirmed that Marchment was taken to the hospital shortly after the injury:

"It wasn't pretty. He's OK, but I don't know how long (he'll be out)."

This is the second time in the season that Marchment gets hit in the face by a puck.

Back in November, in a game against the Winnipeg Jets, he had to momentarily leave the game to get stitches before returning to the bench:

An update on his health should be made by the Stars before their next game, set to go down tomorrow against the Chicago Blackhawks.

With 12 goals and 15 assists in 33 games, Marchment stands at the fourth rank among all Stars' scorers.

If he were to miss significant time, it would be a terrible loss for his team.
