The Capitals are flying right now, but unfortunately, the organization have now announced that a beloved team member is suffering through an unfortunate emergency.

The Washington Capitals 2024/25 campaign has been an incredible one, with every single player on the team rolling as they maintain the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference with the trade deadline approaching.

Unfortunately, it's not all been positive, as the team have announced tragic news on public address announcer Wes Johnson, who the team have revealed is dealing with a medial emergency, as they've asked their fans to keep him in their thoughts and prayers moving forward.

The Washington Capitals express our heartfelt thoughts and send our best wishes to public address announcer Wes Johnson as he faces a significant medical emergency. We kindly ask everyone to keep Wes in your thoughts and to respect the family's privacy as they navigate this challenging time and focus on Wes' well-being.

On top of that, the team have linked a GoFundMe set up to help Wes through this difficult time, which you can donate to here as the family look to get the support they need during this time.

Unsurprisingly, this has led to some fans calling out the team for asking for donations given their immense budget and profits as an organization, but it's very likely that they've already helped him out some way and will continue to do so after an incredible 25-years with the team.

Like the Capitals and their fans, we send our thoughts to Johnson, who has been with the Capitals for over half of the existence of the team, and we hope that whatever he is going through, both he and his family get the support they need during a very tough time.
