Quinn Hughes just gave John Hynes and the Wild their strongest extension buzz yet through Elliotte Friedman's latest read of the situation.

Friedman said Hughes respects that Bill Guerin made the trade without a guaranteed extension, and believes he is going to reward that bet.

Friedman went even further and said he would be surprised if Hughes does not extend in Minnesota this summer, with a 3-year deal floated as the likely structure.
