Latest Nathan MacKinnon injury status drops and Colorado is in full meltdown
Nathan MacKinnon was not in the Colorado locker room when reporters went in following Sunday's Game 3 loss to Vegas.
That's the only update. There is no other update. And in the playoffs, no update on a franchise center after a brutal shot block is the loudest update of all.

MacKinnon had blocked a shot earlier in the contest, stayed down on the ice in visible pain, and was seen limping down the tunnel. He returned to the bench briefly. Now he's not available postgame.
The 30-year-old just authored one of the best seasons of his career. 127 points across 80 games. 53 goals. Plus-57 rating. Seven game-winners. On a $12.6 million cap hit.
His playoff numbers had been just as ridiculous. 14 points in 11 games heading into Sunday, with 7 goals and 7 helpers.
What missing MacKinnon would do to Colorado's series
The Avalanche already trail in shape and momentum even though Cale Makar has been managing a day-to-day tag this round. Losing a second top-three player from the lineup changes everything.
Martin Necas would absorb top-line minutes. The 27-year-old finished with 100 points and 11 playoff points so far. Talented. Not a 1C in this matchup.
Devon Toews keeps eating defensive workload at $7.25 million. Strong. Still not enough to mask what an MVP-level center missing in May would mean.
How does Jared Bednar handle the line combinations if MacKinnon can't go? You can rebuild a power play. You can't rebuild a player who put up 127 points.
