One fan compared Jets management to an unemployed husband who lets his wife carry the family, only scrambling for money once she finally files for divorce.
The read: Hellebuyck has been propping this team up for years, and management hasn't matched that effort with real moves.
It's harsh, but the results back up the frustration. Winnipeg finished 35-35-12 last season, landing 26th overall in the league.
Hellebuyck still played 57 games and won 18 of them, but his .895 save percentage was a real step down from his usual level.

But blowing up a roster still built around an $8,500,000 franchise goaltender is a very different call than trading a depth defenceman.
Is Hellebuyck actually signaling he wants out, or is this just fans venting after a rough year? Right now, that's still internet speculation, not a reported trade request.
A true rebuild means answering hard questions about pieces beyond the crease, not just riding one goaltender's name a few more seasons.
Mark Scheifele put up 103 points last season, and Kyle Connor added 92 of his own, which isn't the production of a team that needs to gut everything.
Winnipeg still has a roster with playoff-caliber pieces around Hellebuyck, which makes a full teardown a harder sell than it looks from outside.
