The Philadelphia Flyers dropped an ugly injury update Saturday afternoon, and Travis Konecny's name sits right at the top of it.

Konecny (lower-body) and Cam York (upper-body) are both day-to-day. For a club still hunting its first win of the season, that's two more problems nobody in that locker room needed.

And the list kept going. Rasmus Ristolainen was placed on IR with an upper-body injury, retroactive to Oct. 3.

Nikita Grebenkin underwent successful back surgery. He'll be out a minimum of four months.

The lone bit of good news? Helge Grans was activated from Injured, Non-Roster, which at least hands Rick Tocchet one more option to work with.

Philadelphia sits at 0-3-2 through five games, and the goal differential already reads -13.

This is a team averaging 1.2 goals per game. Losing its leading scorer for any stretch stings more here than almost anywhere else in the league.

Cam York injury strips the Flyers blue line again

Konecny hasn't found the net yet, but his 3 assists still lead the club. One of those came on the power play.

The back end is where this gets uncomfortable. York has gone minus-6 through five games, tied with Tyson Foerster for the worst mark on the roster.

And there's no easy fallback. Ristolainen, now on IR, had a goal in his three appearances.

Travis Sanheim and Jamie Drysdale have combined for a -9 rating between them. Tocchet either asks those two to carry more minutes or gives David Jiricek a longer look.

This lineup feels like a kitchen that lost its head chef and two line cooks on a Saturday night, with every table in the dining room still booked.

Joseph Woll has held up his end with a .927 save percentage. He still doesn't have a win to show for it.

Philadelphia should not rush Konecny back. A day-to-day tag on a winless team invites the wrong kind of urgency, and lower-body issues have a way of lingering when players chase games in October.

Carolina visits Sunday. The Hurricanes already edged Philadelphia 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 3, a night the Flyers had a point in hand and let the second one slip.

Grebenkin's timeline also pulls one more forward out of the organization's depth for months. Daniel Briere's patience is going to get tested long before the holidays.

Two day-to-day tags on a team without a win. Which one dresses first, and does it matter if the goals still won't come?
