Owen Tippett has drawn more trade calls than Travis Konecny over the years, and the Flyers' winger logjam could finally force a move.

Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco reported that team sources point to one big reason: Konecny's no-movement clause.

Tippett offers more flexibility. He carries a $6,200,000 cap hit through 2032, with a 10-team no-trade list through 2030.

He's on IR with an upper-body injury, expected out until at least October 27. He had a goal and an assist through nine games before going down.

A Western Conference GM told Di Marco that Konecny is viewed as the better all-around player, while Tippett is considered more explosive.

That same GM said a team chasing a top-tier forward would likely target Konecny. But his $8,750,000 cap hit and no-movement clause make that a far tougher path.

A team source told Daily Faceoff that something eventually has to give on the wings. Philadelphia could explore moving more than one while hunting a top-six center.

Matvei Michkov and the kids are crowding the Flyers' wings

Matvei Michkov has eight goals, and Trevor Zegras, now considered a winger, has 10 points.

Porter Martone has five points at 19. Alex Bump is still searching for his first.

Scoring help is badly needed elsewhere. Sean Couturier, 33, has yet to score through 13 games.

The Flyers are 3-7-3 and scoring just 1.8 goals per game. Saturday's 5-4 loss to Anaheim snapped a three-game win streak.

Philadelphia's wing depth is a closet stuffed with jackets and no hangers left. Something has to come out before anything new fits.

Trade Tippett, not the other guy. His contract is easier to move, and turning a surplus winger into a real top-six center is exactly the swap this roster needs.

Both injured wingers could be back for Tuesday's home date with Columbus. Daniel Briere's phone will keep ringing long after that.
