Jake DeBrusk headlines a list of four Canucks veterans Ryan Johnson is open to trading, according to The Fourth Period.
Drew O'Connor, Filip Chytil and Luke Schenn round out the group. Johnson is also trying to add younger, NHL-proven talent.
The timing is no surprise. Vancouver sits 3-10-1, last in the league standings.
The Canucks did finally snap their 10-game skid Tuesday night, winning 6-5 in overtime in Anaheim.
Filip Hronek scored the winner on the power play, the same night he put one into his own net.
DeBrusk is the biggest name on the list, with eight points through 12 games.
Jake DeBrusk and Luke Schenn hold no-move clauses; O'Connor and Chytil are pending UFAs
His $5,500,000 cap hit runs four more seasons after this one, according to the report, and he holds a full no-movement clause this season.
O'Connor is a pending UFA on a $2,500,000 cap hit, with a 12-team modified no-trade clause.
The production hasn't helped his case. He's gone minus-12 this season, the ugliest number on this list.
Chytil is also a pending UFA, carrying a $4,437,500 cap hit. The report noted he missed the first eight games with a shoulder issue.
He has two assists in six games since returning.
Schenn is the most complicated case. He holds a full no-move clause and, per the report, came back to Vancouver to help guide the rebuild.
The 36-year-old defenseman has gone minus-8 over his last five games.
Johnson is doing the right thing. A team sitting last in October has no business protecting veterans who won't be part of the next good Canucks team.
Selling veterans now is like clearing out the garage before winter. Wait too long, and nothing in there is worth much.
But who's actually buying? Clauses on DeBrusk and Schenn give them a say, and O'Connor's numbers won't excite anyone.
The Canucks visit San Jose on Thursday, then host Toronto on Saturday. Every shift those veterans play now doubles as an audition.
Should the Canucks trade Luke Schenn if he's willing to waive?
