The Shocking Cost to Acquire the Controversial Mitchell Miller Has Been Revealed
Mitchell Miller made headlines when the Coyotes drafted him despite his poor reputation he earned prior to the draft. Most teams appeared to have him on their do-no-draft list, but apparently the Coyotes did not get the memo. Now he's off to the KHL.
Controversial Defenseman Miller Signed By KHL Club To Three-Year Deal
The Coyotes cut ties with Miller shortly after he was drafted due to strong backlash from the fanbase and the NHL community. He had previously been detained and found guilty in juvenile court of assault. Miller was caught bullying a disabled black classmate as well as calling him the n-word.
Miller was signed by the Boston Bruins after the Coyotes dropped their rights to him, effectively wasting the draft pick. However, Miller was soon dropped again after public backlash forced the Bruins to release Miller just as had happened with his previous team. Now though, he may have found a more permanent home as he signed with Ak Bars of the KHL through 2026.
You can't put a price on a lot of things, but apparently disgraced defenders go for about 250 thousand Euros.
Miller had six goals and 29 points through 19 games with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas of the Slovakian league.
