The Montreal Canadiens have one of the most dedicated fanbases in the entire NHL, but now Joshua Roy has made them furious by no-showing an event, with people lined up for hours waiting for the talented young prospect, who gave no indication he was not coming.
While many cities have passionate fanbases, it's well known that no one quite loves their team like the fans of the Montreal Canadiens, who are stuck in a major rebuild right now. Most people from the outside looking in will focus on the big name prospects coming through the organization, but there's quite a few good ones, and recently, one of them has made a move to make their fanbase furious.
Joshua Roy was a fifth-round pick of the team back in 2021, and he's made quite the impression with the Laval Rocket, scoring 13 goals and 32 points in 41 games with the team a season ago. Now however, he's on their bad side, as Roy reportedly no-showed a signing event that saw at least 60 people lining up for an hour waiting for him.
It's unclear at this point what happened with Roy to not show up at the event, and although every person in attendance was reimbursed, it's going to leave a sour tase in the mouth of everyone in the building. Perhaps there's a good explanation for what happened with the 21-year old, who made his NHL debut last season, scoring 4 goals and 9 points through 23 games with the Canadiens, but as of right now it's not a good look at all, so hopefully everything is okay with the young prospect, who many watching the Laval Rocket believe has a very, very bright future.
