Top NFL Insider Under Fire for Social Media Post About Patrick Mahomes
NFL insider Adam Schefter is under fire today for a story he wrote about the NFL replay system, specifically referencing Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have long been the ire of much of the NFL fanbase.
Fans all around the league are tired of seeing the Chiefs win Superbowl after Superbowl.
Furthermore, many are tired of seeing what they think are referees making calls biased in favor of the Chiefs.
Now, NFL insider Adam Schefter is reporting that this could change next season as the league looks to expand replay review.
NFL replay assist is expected to expand this offseason into plays that could include the quarterback slide, league sources told ESPN on Saturday."
Schefter specifically referenced a play from last week's divisional round game between the Chiefs and Texans in which Mahomes drew an unnecessary roughness penalty after going into a late slide.
With that being said, many fans are upset with Schefter for the way he framed the article.
Many are angry that he solely called out Mahomes instead of pointing to the broader issue as a whole.
Many fans accused Schefter of lacking in journalistic integrity for refusing to point to other instances of the rule being bent that don't involve Mahomes or the Chiefs, using the defending Superbowl champions as clickbait.
We will see tonight whether or not the Chiefs advance to their third consecutive Superbowl.
