During his recent appearance on Sekeres and Price, NHL Insider Darren Dreger provided some major updates on Vancouver trade talks surrounding feuding Canucks J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson.

Amidst ongoing tensions in the locker room, the Canucks have fallen so far from grace, they dropped out of a playoff spot in a division they led just last season.

Vancouver has kept little secret that they intend to cut their losses, opting to look at the trade market to ship off JT Miller or Elias Pettersson, who has reportedly resulted in better offers overall.

According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, Pettersson was almost part of a blockbuster trade to the Carolina Hurricanes instead of Mikko Rantanen but is now a likely target of the Buffalo Sabres.

During his latest appearance on Sekeres and Price, Darren Dreger largely echoed this sentiment but added a layer of uncertainty if the package was exact.

Dreger added that in addition to the Buffalo Sabres for both players, the New York Rangers and the Columbus Blue Jackets were among teams who showed some interest.

"I would look at Buffalo, I would look, of course at New York. I mean, JT Miller speculation, linked to the New York Rangers, who are obviously playing better; that's not going to go away anytime soon.

And I think that there are other teams who have at least kicked tires, and one that kind of surfaces is the Columbus Blue Jackets."

Though he could not provide an exact date when Vancouver will make moves, Dreger shared that should the Canucks really be itching to get rid of Pettersson or Miller, fans will find out before the Four Nations Tournament.

With more than half the season gone and hard work to be done to clinch a playoff spot, Vancouver will have to work quick to fix their issues or ship them away.

After two failed trade weekends in a row, Canucks fans and staff are likely hoping the third time is the charm.
