Roope Hintz thought something bad had happened to his knee Friday night, but the Dallas Stars forward now says he should be all good.
"I think I got a little lucky there," Hintz said, per Robert Tiffin.
"At first I thought something happened really bad, but I got back [out] there pretty quick, so I think it should be all good," he added.
Sam Nestler reported that he feels fine and got lucky with the actual contact, avoiding a more serious injury.
Dallas needed some good news. A shutout loss at home to open the season is bad enough without losing an $8,450,000 forward to a knee.
It's dropping your phone face down on concrete, holding your breath, and flipping it over to find the screen somehow intact.
Will he be ready tonight? The Stars visit Nashville on the second half of a back-to-back, and neither report ruled him in or out.

Roope Hintz breaks silence after knee scare: “I think I got a little lucky”
Hofer stopped all 25 shots for St. Louis in a 4-0 win, and even picked up an assist.
Jimmy Snuggerud and Pius Suter each had a goal and an assist, while Dalibor Dvorsky and Mason McTavish also scored.
Hintz finished at -2 with no shots in 16:57, a quiet night all around for the 29-year-old.
Jason Robertson went -3, and Wyatt Johnston led Dallas with four shots.
Miro Heiskanen led the Stars in ice time at 26:45.
Jake Oettinger allowed two goals on 22 shots, with the other two going into an empty net.
Glen Gulutzan's group went 4-1-0 in the preseason, which feels like a long time ago now.
Jim Montgomery's Blues, meanwhile, head into the weekend at 1-0-0 and feeling a lot better about themselves.
The Stars pay Mikko Rantanen and Jason Robertson $12,000,000 apiece, and neither found the net Friday.
After Nashville, Dallas hosts San Jose on Monday before road dates in Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
Hintz sounds fine. The Stars will feel a lot better once he proves it in a game.
Should the Stars rest Roope Hintz tonight in Nashville just to be safe?
