After his recent announcement that he has signed with the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Kane has just revealed how the Chicago Blackhawks betrayed him.

Kane Reveals How He Thought There May Have Been A Reunion Between Him and the Blackhawks

Patrick Kane's announcement that he signed in Detroit came to little shock, as Detroit was one of the leading candidates for Kane's next home since the jump. Among other teams in the mix for Kane were the Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

However, Kane recently revealed how he had hoped that the Chicago Blackhawks would be in the mix, given their first overall pick and their interest in bringing back veterans to help with Bedard.

«Yeah, I mean, I never really knew, right?» Kane said. «Especially after that first pick, I was like, 'OK, maybe they'll try to bring, even like Tazer or myself back.'
«I know when I was a young guy, it really helped having some older guys around like Robert Lang, (Martin) Havlat, Yanick Perrault and Patrick Lalime, guys like that."

"Obviously, we had some young guys coming up that were pretty special players, and that made it pretty easy on me, too. It seemed like they wanted to go in a direction where they were going to bring in some different type of veterans."

Obviously, this would have been a heartwarming reunion, as Patrick Kane will be the face of the Blackhawks organization for some time, leading them to multiple Stanley Cups.

Bedard Thinks It Is Weird Not Seeing Kane in Chicago

Even Connor Bedard thinks it is weird seeing Kane in another jersey other than Chicago, as he noted in an interview after Kane's announcement.

«It's weird for every hockey fan not seeing him in Chicago. It's probably weird for him too.»

Kane will make his reunion with the Blackhawks and meet Bedard on the ice for the first time on February 25th, when the Blackhawks take on the Red Wings.
