At this current point in time, Hurricane Milton is causing absolute disaster to the state of Florida, which almost caused the NHL to postpone a game between the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins.
Now, heartbreaking footage has emerged from all over the state of the damage that Milton has done, with specific drone footage revealing what damage has been done to Tropicana Field. That is known as the home of baseball's Tampa Bay Rays, but in previous years it has also served as the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who used the field during the 1990's as their home at points.
In 1996, a Stanley Cup Playoffs game was held there, bringing in a crowd of 28,183 fans, a record that would stand until 2003 when the Winter Classic topped the gaudy attendance number, something that has been topped several times since then. In the footage, you can see that the roof has been blown off of the arena, with so much debris on the field that you would hardly recognize this as a baseball field anymore.
While the millions of homes and properties that have been damaged are just as, if not more heartbreaking than this situation, given what this field means for so many fans in the area and all over the world, it's incredibly heartbreaking to see the field and the state in this condition. This may get worse before it gets better, so we continue to send our thoughts and prayers to those effected by Hurricane Milton, and we hope that you've found safety during such a difficult time.
