Aaron Ekblad just revealed the new soundtrack inside Paul Maurice's Florida Panthers locker room: Matthew and Brady Tkachuk talking nonstop.
The brothers being teammates was always going to change the room. According to Ekblad, one difference became obvious almost immediately.
“It's like we got our own podcast in the locker room,” Ekblad said while describing life with the two Tkachuks together.
That line says plenty. Matthew has never lacked personality around the Panthers, and adding Brady gives him somebody who can match his energy, stories and willingness to keep a conversation rolling.
For teammates, that apparently means there aren't many quiet stretches anymore. Ekblad delivered the comment with a smile, but anyone who has shared a room with two chatty brothers knows exactly what he's describing.
The clip shows Ekblad grinning as he delivers the line, looking amused by a situation that may already be testing the room's tolerance for Tkachuk chatter.

There's also a hockey layer to this. Florida already had Matthew as one of its loudest personalities, and Brady brings another player who operates with the same emotional edge and comfort being heard.
That can make for an entertaining locker room. It can also become a lot when teammates are trying to eat, change, recover or simply enjoy a few quiet minutes between meetings and practices.
Ekblad's description paints the funniest possible version of the adjustment. Instead of teammates getting occasional Tkachuk commentary, they're apparently getting something closer to a continuous brother-to-brother broadcast.
For Maurice, the bigger question will be how that chemistry carries onto the ice. Strong personalities are easy to notice in September. What matters is whether that connection gives Florida another layer once puck drop arrives.
The Panthers have spent years building an identity around emotion, pressure and players who rarely disappear into the background. Putting both Tkachuks in the same locker room only turns that volume higher.
And Ekblad may have provided the first warning to everybody else in the room: headphones could become valuable equipment this season.
