Dylan Larkin has reportedly rejected another possible destination, leaving Todd McLellan and the Detroit Red Wings facing a tighter trade market.
The Philadelphia Flyers recently checked in on Larkin, but the veteran center's camp reportedly informed them that Philadelphia wasn't among his approved destinations.
That's another roadblock for Detroit as the organization searches for a deal that works both for the Red Wings and their captain.
Larkin's modified no-movement clause gives him considerable control over the process. He can limit where Detroit sends him, and that power is shaping every trade conversation.
Minnesota, Vegas and Florida are reportedly among the destinations Larkin would accept. Dallas has also been mentioned as a team he would consider.

The problem for Detroit is straightforward: none of those clubs have met the Red Wings' reported asking price.

That leaves Steve Yzerman with a difficult negotiation. Detroit can seek maximum value, but Larkin's preferred destination list cuts down the number of teams capable of creating a bidding battle.

Montreal has reportedly encountered the same obstacle, effectively removing another possible destination before serious talks can develop.
The situation has even drawn some pointed reaction online. One fan summed up the unusual dynamic by saying Larkin will “only join teams that can't afford me.”
That line captures Detroit's problem. The teams Larkin prefers either haven't offered enough or aren't prepared to meet the price Detroit wants.
Larkin hasn't shown any reported willingness to expand his list, which keeps the pressure on the Red Wings rather than on interested clubs outside that group.
He's back on the ice, but the trade picture remains unsettled. Unless Detroit lowers its price or one of Larkin's approved teams steps forward, this saga could continue deep into the preseason.
