The LA Kings have placed a former first-round pick on waivers in favor of calling up a different first-rounder.
Bjornfot Placed on Waivers: Clarke Called Up
The LA Kings have announced that they have called 2021 8th overall pick Brandt Clarke up and will be sending down 2019 22nd overall pick Tobias Bjornfot.
Kings have recalled Brandt Clarke, per the AHL transactions log.
Per the LA Kings press release:
The LA Kings have recalled defenseman Brandt Clarke from the Ontario Reign, the Kings' primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, defenseman Tobias Bjornfot has been placed on waivers.
Bjornfot has only played one NHL game all season and has been seemingly regressing over the past few seasons so maybe a change of scenery is in check.
At 2 PM EST tomorrow we will know if Bjornfot is claimed or not.
