Rick Tocchet and the Vancouver Canucks have struggles as of late, and now the Head Coach has ripped his team after their latest defeat.

Over the last few months, the drama surrounding the Vancouver Canucks have led them thorugh some major struggles, with the team now on the outside looking in at the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Western Conference.

Those struggles continued on Tuesday night as they fell in dramatic fashion to the Buffalo Sabres, with the team giving up a 2-0 third period as they blew a 2-1 lead to fall 3-2 in dramatic fashion in a very winnable game.

Unsurprisingly, Rick Tocchet was incredibly angry about the situation, as he went off on the team publicly after the loss, calling out the effort and attitude of the entire playing group after the game.

Guys stopped skating, guys started doing fancy plays, body language came back, u just can't do that. Winners don't do that. You don't slam gates. We're up 2-1 and some1 misses an empty net. Ok who cares? Why slam a gate?...I don't know if it's because of the noise or not

While captain Quinn Hughes continues to thrive as the leader of this team, few others have stepped up around him, and with the mounting pressure forced upon this team by the public feud of J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, with Tocchet suggesting that the outside noise could have played a role in their loss.

With Miller potentially on the way out soon, things could be changing for the Canucks, but as of right now, they've dropped 12 of their last 16 games this season, and while the Flames are just 1 point ahead of them in the Wild Card race, if this type of play continues, there's no way they'll be a genuine Stanley Cup threat in 2024/25.
