Legendary Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ed Chadwick passes away

In a heartbreaking announcement from the Toronto Maple Leafs today, we discovered legendary goaltender Ed Chadwick has passed away at the age of 90.

The record-holder in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization for the last goaltender to play all the games in a season, Ed Chadwick was a standout for five years with the team during the Original Six era.

The Toronto Maple Leafs released this statement following the news:

Although he was incredibly successful as a player, Ed Chadwick found his true calling in scouting, winning five Stanley Cups as a member of the Edmonton Oilers following his retirement.
