Six Vancouver Canucks scratched ahead of crucial game 7
The Vancouver Canucks are in for possibly their most difficult battle of the season tonight, as they have to face off against the Edmonton Oilers in game 7 of their series without several of their usual players.
The series between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks has been one of the most intriguing, becoming the only second-round matchup to go to seven games. This is Vancouver's 13th-ever game seven, and it could become their first victory of its type in over a decade.
However, Vancouver appears to be in trouble, as it was announced that six of their players would be scratched from tonight's lineup. According to Thomas Drance of The Athletic, those missing will include goaltender Thatcher Demko and right-winger Vasily Podkolzin.
Thatcher Demko was working with Podkolzin, Juulsen, Karlsson, Friedman and Wolanin - so those are your projected Game 7 #Canucks scratches."
On top of these players, the Canucks are going to be without their top goal-scorer Brock Boeser. Unfortunately, this player developed a blood clot in his leg, and with his current treatment, he is not expected to be part of the lineup for the remainder of the season, regardless of the outcome of tonight's game.
He has been placed on blood thinning medication and is not expected to be available to play again this season.

With so many of their players out of the lineup, the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that the home ice will be enough of an advantage in tonight's game. If they are unable to pull it together, it will send the Edmonton Oilers to the Western Conference finals against the Dallas Stars.
