Since being drafted in 2006, Brad Marchand has gone on to become one of the most prolific Boston Bruins of all time playing in over 1000 games for the franchise and winning the 2011 Stanley Cup with them.
His dedication to Boston has seen him get rewarded with the captaincy this past season after Patrice Bergeron retired. Today, the Bruins did their end-of-season press conference and GM Don Sweeney shared his intentions for Marchand.
With one year left on his current contract, Marchand has the opportunity to retire after next season but may very well stick around. It is unknown if he will sign a contract extension this summer but if one thing is for certain Sweeney will do his best to keep Marchand a Bruin forever.
